In the '90s, I had many years in the painting and construction trades. I felt the need and desire to change, to go for my life long passion: play and produce music projects.

I had played many gigs over the years and felt my level of playing/performing was as good or better than most. I had tried living in LA but knew it wasn't a fit. I started writing down my affirmations and visualizing being a professional band producer.

One day, a friend who had moved away to Seattle a year earlier called me out of the blue. He asked me if I was interested in a producer job working for a well-established chain of music stores and Music School in the Seattle area. The catch was that I had to move to Seattle, and take over a program that had been established six months prior but was missing a "coach position" for producing live bands. I knew it was the opportunity I had been asking for, but I was short on money, and he could only offer me two weeks to move from my home in Hawaii. It was a challenge I would never forget. I said yes, and that was that.

I asked my girlfriend if she wanted to move to Seattle, and surprisingly she agreed. So, I arrived, found the program was in a big mess but had no choice but to move forward. I was able to get the program back on track, and eventually became the most successful producer and coach they ever had. There were many obstacles and challenges, but I learned that with drive, I could succeed in whatever I put my heart into.

I also was asked to take over the position of the Director of the music school. I was able to remodel the school to accommodate more teachers and create better facilities for the band programs I was running. It was a grand success!
